Description
This 15 kW clip-on container genset is the budget entry into off-grid reefer power. It supplies 18.75 kVA at 460 volts AC, three phase, 60 Hz from a direct injection 2.2 litre diesel, and it will power an ISO reefer container, including reefers carried in DNV 2.7-1 offshore frames. Build varies by availability — ask us which is in stock. Listed at $4,500.

Sized for Short-Term Power
This is the set to buy for the gaps: a container waiting on a quay, a reefer parked overnight at a site with no plugs, a load held through a customs delay, a temporary freezer at an event or a disaster site. It gives a refrigerated container complete independence from shore power for a period measured in hours or days, with the mobility to be moved to whichever box needs it. For continuous long-haul duty with a large fuel tank and a 3,000 hour service interval, step up to the SG-3000 or SG-5000.
Weight and Handling
At 1,804 lb dry-tank the set is well within forklift capability but not something to move by hand or improvised sling. The gross weight decal matters: with a full tank the unit is materially heavier, and both the lifting equipment and the container’s mounting castings need to be rated for the loaded figure, not the empty one.
DNV 2.7-1 Compatibility
DNV 2.7-1 is the offshore container standard covering lifting frames, certified slings and the impact loads a unit sees being craned onto a moving vessel. A genset going offshore needs its own certification under DNV 2.7-3 for portable offshore units, which we do not supply as standard. If your work touches rigs or supply vessels, tell us and we will confirm what certification a specific unit carries — see also our DNV 2.7-1 offshore tank container.
