Description

The Carrier PowerLINE 69RG15 is the clip-on generator set in Carrier Transicold’s PowerLINE range. Where the 69UG15 undermount bolts to a chassis, the RG15 pin-mounts to the front of a refrigerated container and can be attached or removed in minutes — which is what makes one genset able to serve a yard full of containers instead of a single trailer. Mounting Flexibility Is the Whole Argument

Carrier’s design brief for PowerLINE was that the operator should not be locked into a mounting decision at purchase. Clip (RG15) and undermount (UG15) share the same engine, generator and controls; only the frame differs. For a drayage operator whose refrigerated volume moves between containers day to day, a small pool of clip-on sets covers a much larger pool of boxes than dedicating a genset to every chassis ever could.

Choosing the Emissions Series

Every PowerLINE model number ends in a series code, and it is the only thing that determines where the unit is legal to operate. Series 5 is EPA Tier 4 interim and built on an export engine in the 19-37 kW class. Series 13 is full EPA Tier 4. Series 24 meets the 2023 CARB requirement for 8-19 kW engines using an ECU, common-rail injection and precise fuel metering. Series 55 is EU Stage V.
