Return & Refund Policy

We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase from Propane Tank Traders. Please read our return policy carefully before placing your order.
Return Window
Returns are accepted within 30 days of the delivery date. Items must be in their original, unused condition to qualify for a return.
Eligible Items
- New tanks that are unused, still under factory vacuum seal, and in original condition
- Accessories (anode bags, fittings) that are unopened and undamaged
- Items damaged in transit (shipping damage must be reported within 5 business days of delivery — see Damaged or Defective Items below)
Non-Returnable Items
- Tanks that have been filled with propane or had the factory vacuum seal broken
- Used or scrapped tanks (sold as-is)
- Custom or special-order tanks (items marked as “Special Order” or “Built to Order” on the product page at the time of purchase)
- Installed tanks
How to Initiate a Return
- Contact us within 30 days of delivery at sales@propanetanktraders.com or call (501) 218-9328
- Provide your order number, the item(s) you wish to return, and the reason for the return
- We will issue a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and return shipping instructions
- Ship the item back using a trackable shipping method. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer unless the item is defective or damaged in transit
Restocking Fee
A 15% restocking fee applies to all non-defective returns of tanks 500 gallons and above. This fee covers the cost of inspection, repackaging, and re-inventorying large tanks. The restocking fee will be deducted from your refund amount. No restocking fee is charged on tanks under 500 gallons or on returns due to defects or shipping damage.
Refund Processing
Once we receive and inspect the returned item, we will notify you of the status of your refund. Approved refunds are processed within 5–10 business days to your original payment method.
Damaged or Defective Items
If your order arrives damaged or defective, please photograph the damage and contact us within 5 business days of delivery. We will arrange a replacement or full refund at no cost to you. Damage claims reported after 5 business days may not be eligible for a freight carrier claim, but will still be reviewed on a case-by-case basis within the 30-day return window.
Cancellations
Orders may be cancelled for a full refund before the item has shipped. Once an order has shipped, our standard return policy applies. To cancel, contact us immediately at (501) 218-9328.
