Chemical Tanks

Chemical and Process Tanks

This category covers the storage, containment and transfer equipment that sits around a process plant rather than a fuel yard: pressure vessels, offshore-rated tank containers, wastewater interceptors and the sealless pumps used to move aggressive liquids between them.

Pressure and Bulk Storage Vessels

Spherical vessels are used where a gas has to be held as a liquid under pressure — LPG, ammonia, propylene, butadiene and LNG. The sphere is the strongest shape for the job because internal pressure loads the shell evenly, with no corner to concentrate stress, and it presents the least surface area per unit of volume, which limits heat gain in cold service. See the ASME spherical storage tank.

Transportable and Offshore Tanks

The 2,500 litre DNV 2.7-1 offshore tank container is a stainless steel T11 portable tank in a certified lifting frame — the standard way to move chemicals to a rig or a remote site by crane.

Wastewater and Interceptors

Commercial kitchens need a grease trap to keep fats and oils out of the sewer; rural properties need a septic tank to settle and treat wastewater on site.

Sealless Transfer Pumps

Magnetic drive pumps have no shaft seal at all — the motor turns an outer magnet assembly which drives an inner rotor through a sealed containment shell. Nothing passes through the casing wall, so there is no seal to leak, no flush plan to maintain and no fugitive emission from the pump. We stock the MP, MPL and ANSI B73.3 MAXP series.
