Stage V in Practice
Stage V is the current European emissions framework for non-road engines and it is stricter than the US Tier 4 tiers on particulate number in particular. For an operator the practical consequences are simple: a Stage V set is accepted everywhere, including low-emission zones and ports with their own air quality rules, and it will not need replacing when a jurisdiction tightens. A Tier 4 interim set will not pass a Stage V inspection.
Clip-On for Mixed Fleets

Fitting and Removal
The RG15 pin-mount frame engages the container’s front corner castings, so fitting or removing a set is a short lift with a forklift or reach stacker rather than a workshop job. Forklift pockets are provided for yard handling, and the units stack for storage when they are not on a box.
Running Costs
Fuel consumption runs around 0.7 to 1.1 gallons an hour against a working reefer load. The permanent magnet generator is the main reason the figure sits where it does — a conventional alternator spends engine power exciting its own field before it delivers a watt to the container, and a permanent magnet machine does not.
